Fan Tan (or fancy) is a traditional Chinese gambling game that has become popular over many years. It's basically a form of gambling of luck, and has many similarities to blackjack. The game first came into existence in Egypt. It was later developed in Asia in which sevens were played instead of the traditional hearts and diamonds. Some experts believe this game may have been an inspiration from Tan Ghi (or Tan Gee) in Singapore. This theory is not proven by the evidence.

It's better to sit together in a circle if you want to play. It will enable players to look at all the sevens that are on the table. Every seven has to be dealt as the player is dealt each one at a time. If you deal more than sevens, the game is cut short. It will end when there are more than seven cards. However, a smaller number of players can continue the game so the game continues as long as they've the entire deck. First player to get five cards from a different suit, followed by any other players gets to take a turn.
